We are seeking to appoint an Associate Lecturer under the university’s Scholarly Teaching Fellowship scheme.  You will be responsible for reviewing and improving the Faculty’s clinical and experiential placement activities with the aim of providing a quality experience for the students as well as developing positive working relationships with clinical placements supervisors (preceptors). You will also deliver quality and effective teaching into the Bachelor of Pharmacy, Master of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Pharmacy and Management, specialising in pharmacy practice/clinical experience. 

Under the fellowship rules you must:

  • have fixed term and/or casual employment experience totalling at least 12 months in one or more Australian universities over the preceding five years
  • have been awarded or have submitted a PhD 
  • not hold, or have previously held, any continuing academic appointment in a university
  • provide verification that you satisfy the above criteria.

Other essential selection criteria include:

  • registration as a pharmacist in Australia with recent experience of contemporary community pharmacy practice
  • the ability to teach within the broad areas of pharmacy in both undergraduate and postgraduate professional pharmacy courses (Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy and Management and Master of Pharmacy)
  • the ability to embrace cultural change and to embody a collaborative and cooperative ethos in all aspects of academic life
  • experience in establishing and implementing quality control processes in an educational environment (desirable)
  • demonstrated ability to be an ambassador for the Faculty with the pharmacy profession
  • preference will be given to candidates who are able to demonstrate the ability to develop and nurture collaborative links  and relationships with community pharmacists
